Using Vision to Think
Visualization is not about nice images. It is about understanding, creating ideas and sharing them. Before looking at the technicalities of the tools, we must try to reflect on the mechanisms that make visualization effective means to do science.
About Our Speaker
After completing his studies at Università la Sapienza in Rome, Dr. Valle went to work Digital Equipment, specializing in software engineering. Later, he went to work Advanced Visual Systems (AVS), focusing on data visualization. In 2003 Dr. Valle moved to the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in the Data Analysis and Visualization Group (part of the Scientific Computing Research Group).
